2. Using Aloe Vera Gel to Help Heal a Variety of Skin Disorders and ConditionsAloe Vera gel works by placing a protective coating over the damaged area. It dries really quickly and has a contracting effect on the skin. This helps to pull damaged areas together and coat them with a bactericide to help keep out harmful bacteria, fungus and viruses.
The gel also provides nourishment to the damaged tissue. How does it do this? Once the gel has dried and set, it locks in the goodness of aloe, accelerating the rate of healing, reducing inflammation and redness, accelerating the absorbtion of oxygen in the injured tissue and relieves pain.
Really, a pain killer too? Yes, one of the main ingredients of aloe gel is salicylic acid, the active ingredient in aspirin. The gel of the Aloe Vera plant can be applied directly to swollen and painful joints. The gel will provide relief of joint immobility and pain, due to its anti-inflammatory properties.
Nutrient and mineral rich, Aloe Vera contains over 75 different nutrients, including vitamins, minerals, enzymes, anthraquinones or phenolic compounds, lignin, saponins, sterols, amino acids and salicylic acid. All of these characteristics combine to combat all of the many misery inducing disorders listed below.
